Dragica Lompar was born in 1963 in Cetinje. She graduated from the Gymnasium in her hometown and graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo, Department of General Literature and Librarianship. She completed her postgraduate studies in librarianship and information sciences at the University of Zadar in 2009, defending her work on the topic "Libraries, archives and museums – possibilities of cooperation". Since 1987 she has been employed at the National Library Đurđe Crnojević in Cetinje. Since 2008, she has served as assistant director of the National Library, and gained the highest professional title as a librarian-advisor in 2012. In 2019, she published the work Montenegrin Biographical Lexicon, Tom 1, Montenegrin Littoral, several professional papers in cultural history and librarianship and participated in numerous conferences in the country and abroad. She was a member of significant commissions for drafting legislation and by-laws of the Ministry of Culture and the National Library. She is a member of the editorial boards of the Bibliographic Journal and Archival Records, then of the Council for Culture of the Capital of Cetinje and the Commission for taking the professional exam in librarianship. She was appointed Director of the National Library Đurđe Crnojević on 18.03.2021. |
